Overhead Cranes

What is involved
The examination of an overhead travelling crane looks at a number of elements which may effect the safe operation of the crane, these typically include a working examination to assess the correct operation of each function of the crane, followed by a comprehensive examination of the entire crane structure which will include the following:
- Correct operation of pendant controller
- Decal/function coordination
- Braking
- Long/cross travell operation
- Rope condition
- Correct function of overload device
- Oil levels
- Structural condition of crab unit.
The list above represents only a brief example of a routine crane inspection. Any finding will then be recorded and listed in order of importance on the report of thorough examination. Any potentially critical finding will be delivered to the client immediately after the inspection via an hand witten Emergency report.
